Wandi Cross
This field note belongs to Lucy's training journey: a first-person record of the places, people and practical decisions that shaped the day.
A day measured in movement
The route was never only about reaching the next pin on a map. Weather, tired legs, food, navigation and the welcome of travelling companions all changed the shape of the experience.
The lesson was familiar: deal with the next climb, crossing or kilometre before worrying about the whole distance. Big adventures become manageable when the horizon is broken into honest, immediate steps.
